Terms of Service
Last updated: March 14, 2026
1. Service Description
AppVet ("the Service") provides automated security, accessibility, and performance scanning for websites. The Service runs automated tools against URLs you provide and generates reports with findings and recommendations.
AppVet is an automated scanning tool, not a substitute for professional security audits, manual accessibility reviews, or comprehensive performance testing. Reports are informational and should not be relied upon as a complete assessment of your website's compliance, security posture, or performance characteristics.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to only scan websites that you:
- Own or operate, or
- Have explicit written authorization to scan from the website owner.
Scanning websites without authorization may violate applicable computer fraud and abuse laws. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have proper authorization before initiating any scan.
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to scan websites you do not own or have permission to scan.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, scan quotas, or domain restrictions.
- Use scan results to exploit vulnerabilities in any system.
- Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service without authorization.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
3. Accounts & Authentication
You may use the Service as a guest (limited to one scan) or create a free account. Account authentication is handled via email-based login codes. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your email account.
4. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. AppVet does not guarantee that scan results are complete, accurate, or free from errors.
In no event shall AppVet be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service, including but not limited to damages resulting from actions taken based on scan results.
An automated scan does not constitute a full compliance audit. Passing an AppVet scan does not guarantee compliance with WCAG, ADA, Section 508, or any other standard or regulation.
5. Data Retention
Scan results are stored for 30 days from the date of the scan. After this period, results may be automatically deleted. We retain account information (email address) for as long as your account is active. See our Privacy Policy for details on data handling.
6. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, including scanning unauthorized websites, abusing rate limits, or using the Service in a way that disrupts other users.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@appvet.dev.
7. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will indicate the date of the most recent update at the top of this page.
